Sew the line---
Art is Art; Art is what you make with your hands. Art is an idea in your head that you create using any number of materials, techniques, and skills. There is a line between craft and Art, but I don’t know why. There are many lines drawn within fine Art. I don’t like these lines. Art is Art. Why search to define it.
The past years I have been funneling my creativity toward starting a business. Alirags is a one of a kind fashion accessories company. Because of this, I have found myself stuck in a box, as a fashion designer. I don’t like that. Only I can put myself in a box. I am not just a seamstress, a painter, a quilter, or a sculptor. I am an Artist. I create things, I take ideas and thoughts and make them visual so people can see and discuss these ideas.
Art is not for the elite, it is for everyone. People use their skills with materials and techniques to express their reactions to the world, their ideas, their statements; that is Art. This exhibit criss-crosses or zig-zags the line together. If the same images and materials are used, is one craft and one a piece of Art?
Why have a line?
I’m tired of this line.
